Informationen:KIA 7 May, 1943 during aerial combat with a P-39 near Polarnyje Russia in his Bf 109G-2 Werk # 14802, when his parachute did not open due to insufficient altitude. He had just downed his 53rd victory and his AC suffered engine damage during the skirmish. 135 combat missions, all victories in the East. On 21 August, 1942, his AC, Bf 109F-4 Werk # 10161 suffered engine damage, he bailed out near Motewski Russia, his AC destroyed. MIA 5 September, 1942; listed as MIA after aerial combat, but returned 4 days later. Uninjured in his G-2 which crashed at Petsamo, damaged during aerial combat. (SIG Norway).
